We have a log cabin made out of oak, there are several holes small ones and saw dust/ they are small bee like insects that look like minature wasps. Also the log are dry, is it good to treat them with and oil base sealer waterproofer?

If there is no finish on the logs you should treat them with a borate. If there is a finish you will need to strip it off for the borate to be effective. NEVER power wash a log home. It drives the water so deep into the wood fiber it will never dry out properly.
An oil based sealer is fine, althought most products for log homes are a acrylic latex base. You will find that you will get a better chemical bond between products if you stick with the same base.
