My mom had a log home built (square cut logs with chinking) 32 years ago in mountains of western NC. Exterior/interior walls are one and the same. Never had any finish or waterproofing applied. We decided to waterproof now. Went to Lowes, where they recommended Olympic clear wood protector, a penetrating oil formula for decks, siding, etc. Treated the back of the house. A week later, very strong odor from product inside the house. Is it penetrating all the way through the logs? Should
