Is it common in log homes for the roofs/floors to not be straight/level? I just looked at a log cabin where the floors are not level and the roof is sagging. I’m looking into having a home inspection but I’m not sure if I can find someone who is particularly knowledgeable about log homes.

Yes having uneven floors/roofs are common. 1st floors should be removed and replace the supports. 2nd floors sometimes can be jacked or let down in spots but don’t expect them to be perfect. Roofs are harder yet to make perfect, usually when insulting an older log home in these locations they can be shimmed from the top and looked straight from the exterior only.
