Not normally. Most log home finishes need to have a light washing to remove the dust and dirt and then have a fresh clear coat applied every 3 to 4 years. Some times the South or West sides need attention more often. I recommend budgeting $1 per square foot of living space, per year to maintain a fresh finish.
