I have a two story 29 year old hearthstone log home in Tennessee. Downstairs floors are oak. Upstairs bedrooms and loft area are carpeted. I would like a suggestion on what to replace the carpet with that would help decrease the noise level. When upstairs, all the conversation or tv noise can be heard clearly downstairs. When downstairs, all can be heard upstairs. Is there a floor covering that would remedy this or is it a log problem?
