Our home is about a year old and still under construction. We had seen some small holes in our logs when they were first put up. Now it seems that they are getting worse and worse. We are not sure if we have an ACTIVE infestation or if this is over and done with. The exterminators have identified them as powder post beetles and old house borers. Did you apply a borate treatment to the logs? If not, and you have not stained the logs you need to apply a good borate with a glycol base. It MUST be applied to bare wood for it to work. Shell Guard is a good one that you can get from Timeless Wood Care Products at 800-564-2987.
