Hello again, bought the log home in central florida last week, in talking to the homeowners,
who owned it for a year they dont believe the orginal owners had done anything to the logs inside or outside (home is 12 years old), so outside they had their handyman put Werthers water seal on with a brush, the outside looks good, but should we stain this and/or borate treat it.Or wait a while, Also inside appears just dull what should I do inside to give a little shine??
On the exterior you will not be able to apply the botate with the Werthers on it, and I do not recommend that you usethis product for the exterior. You need to have bare wood to apply borate and have it work properly.
For the interior you should wash the logs down with Perma Chink Log Wash or warm water and TSP. allow to dry andapply a coat of Interior Acrylic Gloss from Perma Chink. Call Timeless Wood Care Products for these materials at 800-564-2987.
