I do not see why not. Just keep in mind that you you should budget $1000 to $2000(depending on how big it is)per year for maintanence on wood siding.

I would not recommend using the product from H. D. You should stick with products specifically designed for log home use. Perma Chink products are the best in my opinion.

Sounds good. You may want the brush some borate treatment on the ends to help sloww down the rot before you cover them.

Yes it is possible, but consider the maintenance issues before you spend the money. Log siding needs attentionat least every 3 years. Inspections twice a year.
