The dry heat is definitely not helping for checking (cracking) in the logs. You can fill on the interior but do not fill on the exterior of the home. A humidifier may help little.

Yes, the wood stove is definitely the cause. The logs were probably not completely dried when installed and it will probably never stop. It is called Resin Bleed and normally is caused from the sun heating a wall on the exterior.
