The dry heat is definitely not helping for checking (cracking) in the logs. You can fill on the interior but do not fill on the exterior of the home. A humidifier may help little.

I would not cut it. You should number each log with a tag that cannot fall off and dismantle it, move to new area and then put back together in reverse order. Take lots of pictures before dismantling. It sounds like it will need to be re-chinked after re-construction. You… Read More »Archive-2954

Yes, the wood stove is definitely the cause. The logs were probably not completely dried when installed and it will probably never stop. It is called Resin Bleed and normally is caused from the sun heating a wall on the exterior.
