Sound like a product called Kabin Kote. DO NOT put this on your house. It is very hard and expensive to remove and in my opinion can cause severe log rot.

Perma Chink makes a couple of gray stains that will give you this look. Gentry Gray & Stone Gray. The Seagull is pretty gray also.
