You should remove it and install a color of Perma Chink that best duplicates the color now. Call 800-564-2987 for the materials you will need.

You can run a bead of chinking down the gap to cover. Ideally during construction the logs are slotted and the dry wall is tucked into the slot so that the logs can slide up and down the dry wall as they move.

Get a good quality interior primer and have it tinted to the color you need.

Do not cheap out on the material. Use a good quality chink or caulk like Perma Chink or Energy Seal caulk. It can be applied in some pretty cold weather. Too much heat is worse for it. Rule of thumb is 3/4” or less-caulk / 3/4” or wider-chink.
