Our eastern white pine 8×10 square log house has just been stacked. We are building over the winter and there is alot of snow. We will have significant overhangs 2ft-10ft. Our builder wants to stain right away to protect the logs- using an oil based stain because of the temperature. We like the colors of Woodscape’s by Sherwin Williams, but that product can only be applied in warm temperatures, which will be May or June (4 months away). Is there another way to protect the logs so we can use
