We live in a 12 yr old log house in New Zealand.
We’ve found the top corner logs are rotting and we have started digging away at the rot.
Unfortunately it seems to go deeper than we first thought.
Most of the rot is dry and powdery. Is there a simple way of preventing further rot or do we have to remove all the rot as far back as the good wood.
Is there a way we can fix the problem without removing/replacing the logs?
We can protect with flashing once we have treated the problem.
