We have an 80 year old log cabin in montana on forest service land. It was chinked with what looks like particle board, about 2” thick. The ”chink” is crumbling and in need of replacement. Being true to the history and originality of the place, what would you recommend? The forest service is a bit particular with the older cabins. Is the best any different? Any color more authentic?
