I have a hand-hewn log cabin on the Mulberry River in Arkansas that was built around 1885. There is some termite damage, but not too bad. I would guess that 10-20% of the chinking has fallen out, so daylight is visible in places. I believe that most of the chinking is Portland or some type of concrete.
