I bought a log home built about 30 yrs ago on a small island off the coast of BC Canada.The home was built out of douglas fir logs taken from the land. It appears that not all of the cambian layer was removed which has resulted in a rather dark interior. There also appears to be some mildew damage that seeps no more then 2 mm into the logs ( each log is roughly 12inches thick). What is the easiest way to remove the darkness and to restore the wood. Keep in mind we live in the home. If sanding
