AZ house Porch roof (2000)support log exposed – appears to never have been stained. The part that is exposed to sunlight is black, inside looks like unstained wood- we’ve sanded most of the black stuff off. Putting a dark brown stain on it. Do we need to get all the black off. Do we stain and put a sealer over the stain. Thx
