I just purchased a log cabin built in 1929. The logs are cedar and the exterior is the original cedar bark. It wasn’t maintained by its previous owner and has the black finish at the bottom from the snow line. I would like to stain the bark to get rid of the black snow line and protect it from the snow in the future but am not sure if there is a special stain and/or process for staining cedar bark.
