I’d like to use some pine logs that I cut down about 6 months ago to build an arch for the entrance to my ranch. We live near Durango in SW Colorado and the climate is mostly dry (10-15 inches of precipitation per year) and cool since we’re at about 7500 feet of altitude. The upright logs will be sunk into the ground about 4 feet and will leave about 18 feet of the logs above the ground. I’m in the process of peeling the bark from the logs now. What is the best way to treat the logs so
