Corn blastin will work on log siding. It is hard to tell if it will remove the water stains. Depends on how old and deep into the wood fiber they go.

Any bad spots in the siding should be replaced, if any. If the stain is peeling or cracking it will have to be stripped and restained. Plan on $1 per square foot of house / per year for maintenance.
