You are probably not going to be able to do anything about the black. If you power wash it very hard you need to let it sit for a couple of weeks before staining.

You’re not really going to be able to do anything about the dryness. I would recommend applying an application of Shell Guard borate and call it good.
Get a different window guy and caulk around them with Energy Seal.

We blast it all of the time, but it will require sanding after.
Depends on how big they are. If quite large the log should be replaced. Other than that you can dust the bee holes and fill with Energy Seal caulk.
