Try hanging a good quality plastic owl with glass eyes from a wire or string in the affected areas. They probably used to get bugs from between the logs and know they are still behind the chink.

You could run a bead of chink there. I would think that the home is old enough that most of the moving is done and you could do this.

This is very normal. If they are really of concern you should have a structural engineer look at it. You could fill them with Energy Seal with a Grip Strip backer if you like. You should wait till spring when most of the moving is done.
