Draw knife, but I do not think that is the surface you are looking to end up with. Sanding is probably your best option.

As long as you have a couple of full logs left over the door opening without seams (butt joints) you would be fine to cut them out for full size doors.

Call Ryan for help at 877-788-5647. Sounds like you may need some reain gutters to stop splashing on the lower logs. ??? Yes, this normally can be repaired without having to move out.

Not sure how old your home is, but there is some normal settling. This doesn’t sound normal. Are there rods down through the courses of logs? You should contact the builder if you know who it is. If not, have a structural engineer look at it.

Cut off the outer half and screw new halves on. You should apply some good glycol based borate before attaching the new halves.
