Are the windows caulked in complete? If the checks are sealed it has to be coming in somewhere else.

Yes, you can cut the opening bigger for windows. As for the interior you should have a structural engineer look at it to make sure that none of the walls are load bearing.

I would recommend numbering and dismantling. Replace any rotten logs as you re-assemble. I do not know of any one in your area. Try calling the local builders association.

Call Ryan at 877-788-5647 for help with corners and any other rot. That is first. Sanding is best for cleaning the interior logs. The old chinking should be removed before sanding. Stain, chink and clear coat last.

Treat with Perma Chink Shell Guard. You should be able to install right away, but wait 2 weeks before staining. sealing to most people is the clear coat that goes over the stain
