If it is truly paint it needs to be removed. It will have to be corn cob blasted and possibly sanded to remove. Use a solid color stain if you want to keep the look.
You should have it removed. Corn blasting does ”fuzz” the wood a little, I call it a velvet finish. Sand blasting will not be much better. If you want a smooth finish you will have to sand the logs after blasting.
I would sand.
Yes, but you will want to wash it before you stain it with Log Wash to remove mold spores and dirt.
I have used several times and cannot really tell any difference.
It will take some of it off. Not sure how hard it is. You may have to use sand. It will have to be ground after to finish removing it. Call Mikeat 866-670-3020.
Depends on what you are try to take off. Personally, I am not an O. Brush fan.
You should sand it with some orbital sanders with 40 grit. You will need to give it a ”light” bath with Log Wash and allow it to dry for a couple of days before staining.
Call Timeless Wood Care Products at 800-564-2987. They will be able to help you. I will say that if the logs are oozing pine pitch you should wait until the logs are very dry before staining or the pitch will ooz for years.
