You should corn cob blast and not power wash. DO NOT use Linseed Oil. It promotes black mold growth. Spend the money and geta good quality log home stain like Lifeline from Perma Chink.

I would not recommend leaving the bark on for interior use. Very hard to keep clean and dust free. A draw knife is the best way to remove the bark.

Do not use paint. Get a good quality solid color stain. It looks like paint but is better for the logs.

A orbital palm sander with 40 grit disc will do it for most jobs.

You should not put deck stain on the side of a house. It is formulated for completely different circumstances. You will have to corn cob blast the Behr off and apply a good quality log home stain like Perma Chink Ultra 2.
