Never known Wood Guard to have a ”gloss” finish. Plan on doing it again in a years or two. My experience with Wood Guard is it tends to fade quickly. Careful with the bleach! 1 cup in five gallons of water is plenty to kill any mold spores.

He’s right. The original stain probably darkened and bleaching will not do anything, and it should never be used for cleaning a log home in large amounts.
