DO NOT power wash it. It should be corn of glass blasted, borate treated and then stained. Power washing will not remove the old color without hammering a bunch of water deep into the wood fiber. Email mike@logrepair.com for help or call 866-670-3020.

It sounds like you did not get all of the TSP off from the logs. Bleach should not be used. Careful with that power washer. If you hit the logs too hard you need to let them dry out for a good long time (30-45 days).
I would stick with just the borate. Shell Guard is the best for penetration into the logs.
I wouldn’t recommend it. You will probably mess up the chemical structure of the stain and cause it to fail. If you want the varnish look go with Sikkens Log & Siding.
