If it is on top of the stain you should wash it with Log Wash. If it is under the stain and is black you will have to strip and start over to do it right. Call Dave at 800-564-2987 for more help and the products you will need.

Some sort of vapor barrier wouldn’t hurt. Check your local building codes.

Sounds like resin bleed. There is really no way to stop it. The cooler the basement the less it will happen. It can go on for years. Typically caused from sealing logs or lumber before it is completely dried.
