Not sure what to tell you. Maybe try taking a shop vac and vacuum every crack top and bottom. You could staple some plastic up, but wouldn’t look very nice.

They would be fine, but you will have to wash in the spring before staining. I do not recommend filling the checks.

Ideally the dry wall should have been tucked into slots cut into the logs allowing them to move up and down with the movement of the house sliding over the drywall. Not sure what you are trying to do with the rope.

The rot MUST be fixed first before covering with siding. If not the rot will continue under the siding and eventually there will be structural issues. Call Ryan at 877-788-5647 for help and pricing.

Not that I’m aware of. They are like black ants and normally won’t hang around unless there is wet wood to feed on. Check for rot.

If the current chinking is mortar I would recommend removing it and installing latex chink. Call Mike at 866-670-3020 for help. It may just need a couple of areas caulked or chinked. Leaks that just come thru a log are sometimes hard to find.

Connect your roof to the the house and then cut a line in the log above roof line with a circular saw. Tuck flashing into cut and run down over shingles. Caulk. You may want to get some ice and water sheild down as in this picture. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%3Fei%3DUTF-8%26p%3Dflashin%2Bon%2Broof%2Blines&w=160&h=160&imgurl=www.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dflashin%2Bon%2Broof%2Blines%26id%3DBF1E5E899FBADE782E0AAB5047804DB3D7A79826&size=&name=search&rcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dflashin%2Bon%2Broof%2Blines%26id%3DBF1E5E899FBADE782E0AAB5047804DB3D7A79826&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Fimages%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dflashin%2Bon%2Broof%2Blines%26id%3DBF1E5E899FBADE782E0AAB5047804DB3D7A79826&p=flashing+on+roof+lines&type=&no=3&tt=115&oid=http%3A%2F%2Fts3.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DH.4641340014529770%26pid%3D15.1&tit=…+Roof+Flashing+Using+Grace+Products+Grace+Roof+and+Window+Flashing&sigr=135fcaht4&sigi=12ugsajkk&sigb=11vb5nnn1&fr=mcafee
