I would recommend having a local exterminator do his thing at this point. It is too late to put a borate treatment on since it must be applied to bare wood. Most contractors that do not work on log homes know this.
You should be able to apply another coat of Woodscapes if the logs are clean. If there is a lot of these gray areas it may need to be stripped to look right.
Could be earwigs, hard to say. Have a local exterminator take a look.
Strip the wood and apply borate.
There shouldn’t be a problem if it is chinked properly.

Depending on what style you go with the cost to build can be 1 1/2 to 4 times as much as conventional construction. Also, the exterior maintenance will be a must to avoid costly repairs and fixes. Call Mike a 866-670-3020 for more help.
if it is damp there is going to be an array of wood eating bugs. Sounds like there may be some rot also. Call Ryan at 877-788-5647 for an inspection.
Not sure where you are but it is probably Powder Post Beetle or Old House Bore. It will need to be borate treated (wood has to be bare, no stain). Go to this link for more info. http://www2.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef616.asp
