Hard to say without seeing it. That is one of the draw backs to going with the tin roofs. You may have to use a lift if you can close enough with one.
There are two different stains I would recommend. Life Line makes an accent stain that is solid color and Sherwin Williams Woodscapes solid is good.
You want to avoid anything that has a plant based oil in it like Linseed oil, Safflower oil, etc. Stick with a good latex stain like Life Line.
