There isn’t much you can do to keep it looking ”natural”. It will need some sort of stain with a color. The pigment in the stain will protect it from UV damage. Any clear will break down very quickly and cause problems.

Be sure to rove any loose or flaky stain. LIGHT wash with Log Wash from Perma Chink. I would recommend Sherwin Williams Woodscapes solid stain.

Yes, they must have a material on them that allows vapor/micro moisture to escape. Paint is not one of them. If you want the paint look use a good solid color stain like Sherwin Williams Woodscapes.

Try some paint thinner or mineral spirits. This problem will go on for years. It is called resin bleed.

It is not as bad as paint. Due to its chemical make up it still allows the logs to ‘breathe”. The only thing with solid stain is that you cannot see the wood grain.

It is a good stain, but be sure that the existing stain is not latex. You can put latex on oil stain, but not oil on latex. Best i can tell you without seeing it.

Sounds like the sun was hitting it. A lot of stains should not be applied in direct sun light. You my have to lightly sand it and apply again. I’ve got to say I have never heard of this with Super Deck.
