It does sound like a dry rot issue. I would fill them with Energy Seal.
Sounds like something you are going to have to have custom cut at a local sawmill.
You will have to brush the borate and finish on.
I would recommend using a solid color stain. It looks like paint, but allows the wood to breathe.
The millipedes mean that there is moisture somewhere. You should walk around the house with a hammer and tap on the logs looking for any hollow sounding wood that could be rotten. As for the heat, I’m not sure if that is a lot for that size house, but caulking… Read More »Archive-7838
Sounds like it needs some caulking or chinking around the windows outside. This may still not stop it if the chink lines (seams between the logs) are allowing them in. You will need to caulk or chink the exterior complete if this is the case.
