You will have to scrape it off and maybe sand if you can’t get it off. A lot of times after you get most of it removed, a wet rag and lots of elbow will wipe it off. Sounds like the radiant heat from the stove is causing the problem.… Read More »Archive-1040

It depends on how big the logs are. The guide line is if the the chink line is 3/4” or less caulk should be used, if it is any wider then chinking. Call 866-670-3020 for an estimate. I do not know of any inspectors right in your area.
